Republican Study Committee: Would Obama Rather Campaign than Govern?
From the RSC Chairman:
As for the Democrat-controlled Senate…let’s just say their own “commitment” to governing is questionable. The last time they passed a budget (exactly 1,000 days ago), you had never even heard of the iPad. For comparison, only 912 days passed between Pearl Harbor and D-Day. Watch this quick video to see what else has occurred since Senate Democrats passed a budget.
Congressman Jim Jordan
Chairman, Republican Study Committee
When President Obama takes the podium during the State of the Union address tonight, there are three big questions I think Americans will want answered:
- Where are the jobs?
- Why aren’t we using all the energy resources we have available?
- How can we stop this crazy spending & borrowing?
Conservatives have answers for these questions and solutions for the problems they reflect. What we don’t have is any sign of interest from the president. It’s enough to make one think he’s more interested in campaigning against House Republicans than working with us to solve problems.

Rick Perry Withdraws from Republican Presidential Race
Story from Yahoo.com:
Rick Perry ended his presidential campaign Thursday and endorsed Newt Gingrich's candidacy for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination.
At a press conference in Charleston, S.C., Perry called Gingrich "a conservative visionary who can transform our country."
"Newt is not perfect, but who among us is?" Perry said. "The fact is, there is forgiveness for those who seek God." He mentioned the importance of redemption in Christianity.
Perry, who was at the top of the polls when he first announced his candidacy last summer, placed a disappointing fifth in the Iowa caucuses and sixth in the New Hampshire primaries, where he received less than 1 percent of the vote.
South Carolina Republicans will vote in the state's primaries on Saturday

Jon Huntsman to Withdraw from Republican Presidential Race
From the Associated Press: WASHINGTON — Jon Huntsman will withdraw Monday from the race for the Republican presidential nomination. Campaign officials tell The Associated Press Huntsman will endorse Mitt Romney at an event in South Carolina on Monday morning. The former Utah governor placed third in last week’s New Hampshire primary despite devoting much of his campaign resources to the state. He had already acknowledged that expectations for him in South Carolina’s primary this week will be “very low.” Huntsman was routinely at the bottom of national polls, barely registering at 1 or 2 percent. The campaign officials spoke on condition of anonymity because Huntsman plans to make the official announcement Monday. Strange timing. Huntsman had just been endorsed today by The State, the largest newspaper in South Carolina: "The unhealthy demand for ideological purity obscures a hopeful fact about the GOP presidential field: There are actually two sensible, experienced grownups. … |
