Sue Everhart Re-Elected to a 3rd and Final Term as GA GOP Chairman

Sue Everhart was re-elected as chairman of the GA GOP for another two year term. 

Here is the tally of the 2nd ballot:

1st Vice Chairman:  Bert Guy - Camden County
2nd Vice Chairman: B.J. VanGundy - Gwinnett County
Asst. Secretary: Debbie McCord - Columbia County
Secretary: John Padgett - Clarke County
Treasurer: Bob Mayzes - Bartow County


First Ballot for Chairman of GA Republican Party

The first ballot did not produce a winner with 50% of the vote. Below are the totals from the first vote.

Shawn Hanley concedes and drops out of race. Carter Kessler was eliminated with smallest number of votes.

Herman Cain Takes Down the House at GA Republican Convention

Herman Cain took the down the house at the GA Republican Convention, Saturday May 14th . Delegates, alternates and guests filled the convention center in Macon, GA to hear Herman Cain speak. Mr. Cain said the American dream is under attack amidst runaway debt, a stagnant economy and a Democrat administration forcing a legislative agenda that citizens don't want.  The crowd cheered loudly and leaped to their feet many times during the speech. 

Herman Cain will be making a formal announcement concerning his bid for the Republican nomination for President at noon on Saturday, May 21st at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, GA.
